Merry Christmas

Honey - today is just as quiet as it always was.. It was always just me and you and then you went off to Rock N Bowl to play, preparing for the day after Christmas when our families came together. I am so glad we were able to have the house to share with all those people. It meant so much to you. Yes it was the best house and it was yours.. I missed our traditional breakfast today ..

I wanted to have one more Christmas at the house - but I did not have it in me. And more than anything I wanted you here but neither was in the cards. I am having to put the house on the market.. I am so sorry.. but I am struggling.. This will always be OUR house - no place else will ever be as special.

I wanted to come to see you today but just could not.. I will see you tomorrow - our day to celebrate.. It won't be the same but I will at least spend some time with you. Your mother does not understand my need to see and be with you where you are - but there is such comfort in being with you.. I am so glad you decided that Rayne would be your final resting plave.. there are people who love and care for you there.. and my heart is always with you..

Merry Christmas my love, I miss you and your smile, your energy and your love of drums and life...

Cor Jesu Band Sweater

I know how much your heritage meant to you so last week I donated your Cor Jesu Band Sweater to the Brother Martin Alumni Association. So forever you will be remembered through this donation at the school. I hope you are pleased with what I have done. I hope one day to go to the school and create an endowment for the drum program at he music department with funds from Harry's Hats. I had to put it on hold for a little while I get in control of finances - I have to concentrate there first then building your foundation becomes predominant..I miss you so much..

I know you are my angel in heaven but I have a couple here on earth.. please watch over the ones here on earth Mike, Bo and Diddley(Dusty).

And Bobby - truly helped me out with your Mom this week. Thank him for me in some special way..

Nothing is what I thought it would be

Oh - how I wish you were still here, healthy. Life is surely not what I expected. There are so many things that have to change. None of them are what I want. pray for me..

The hard part starts tonight

I start packing all your drums ups to take them to be sold. I have held out as long as I can and I hope you are good with whom I have chosen. I am so not looking forward to this. Please watch over me and help me through this..

And especially next week for the trip - I will need your support..

I miss you..

Raymond's Birthday

I went to Henderson last night to celebrate Raymond's birthday at Pat's in Henderson. It was the first time since the funeral that the 4 of us were together.. yes Mike came in from Houston. I brought Raymond the "pot" that he has salivated over since you bought it. I know he will take good care of it and use it and that is what is important.. Mike is also wearing the watch you wore when you left us. I sent him home with your leather jacket and gloves - I know my little brother will be warm because of you. You know he is a grandpa now. I have also spoken with George and I am making arrangements to take your drums to George - he will I believe take the best care of them. I know you would be happy that he is putting them in the hands of people who will love them the way you did. I am still lost without you. I tried hard to go visit you yesterday but the traffic in Baton Rouge made it too late to go see you - I am so sorry I really want to be there but I will find a way to see you before Christmas.. Love you and wish you were here..

Today was your day

This holiday became so important to you when you reconnected to your family. My heart is so broken that you are not here to celebrate it. Everyone is trying to help me get through this but the pain is so deep and I am so empty,, I know this is the hardest because its the first - but like I told Darren yesterday - coming to meet you would be ok with me. I love you and I am so sorry about the changes I am having to make but until I meet you again I have to figure this out. I am trying my best and hope you understand. I wish I could visit you today but it is not going to happen - I pray you understand - you are always in my heart. So Harry - Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you are celebrating with your friends and family in heaven - enjoy your cranberry sauce..

Benny

Benny stopped by last night with the new 12 Yats CD - he wrote a beautiful dedication to you ... I am so proud of the last song you recorded with him.. what a trooper you were.. and the greatest gift is that you will always be playing drums somewhere.. and your name will always be associated with the one thing you always were - a great New Orleans drummer.

I am so proud of you..

today is not going to be good for me

I have to start some changes that I do not want to make - none of this takes you out of my heart or mind - but I cannot continue to slip. I know you would tell me to get off my ____ and do what I have to do - so today I start that process. But my heart is breaking....

love you

Took your Mom to see you yesterday

Your Mom and I went to Rayne yesterday to visit you... I am so sorry I did not make it on All Saints Day. But you are surrounded by the orange roses you used to bring your Mom. I will bring you Calla Lilly's next time. They meant so much to us at the house. I will find them. Please help me with my current challenges - give me strength. I love ya.

A year ago today

You had just home from a month in the hospital and we were looking forward to Thanksgiving at Robyn's and Christmas here.. We went to bed early - you did not want to hand out candy. I wish we were having the same conversations this year. This week was so lonely. I miss you and I will always love you..

The Memorial

Thank you to everyone involved - whether it was planning, playing, working or performing. Harry would have been proud of all of you. I am looking forward to building the foundation and having the ability to help those of you who helped us. I am going to take a few days to re-coop and then move forward with all of the things that will be required to get the foundation moving forward.

Dedicated to Harry

A friend from Harry's from California - has written this song in his honor..

Mr. Second Line
Lyrics & Music
Ron Christopher
@2009
Dedicated to Harry Ravain (1948-2009)

It was in L A, way back “in the day”
We were in our prime, sure had ourselves a time
I would write the songs, you were on the drums
Always right on time…..Mr. Second Line

Up from New Orleans, with your hopes and dreams
You hit Hollywood, it was lookin’ good
Like a hurricane, they gave you a name
The man with perfect time…..Mr. Second Line

Bridge:
Friends right from the start, brothers in arms
Playin’ from the heart, shootin’ for the stars
But shooting stars must fade, ‘tho they burn so bright
As they pass our way and touch us with their light

Born a “Travelin’ Man”, you went back to “Loosianne”
‘cross the Ponchartrain, in Katrina’s path you came
You survived it all, but now the Master calls
You came home just in time…..Mr. Second Line

Now it’s time to go, time to play the final show
There’s no turning back, the stage lights fade to black
I’ll play these songs again, but it won’t never be the same
A waltz-in-six or doubletime…..without Mr. Second Line

Tag:

A truer friend I’ll never find
Thank you for your time…..Mr. Second Line

Harry Ravain Memorial Celebration

On October 25, 2009 from 3pm-7pm there will be a Memorial Celebration for Harry at the new Rock N Bowl. Your donation will be your admission.

I met with Alan Reese and Bob Eichhorn tonight and here is what is on tap for the event. There will be jam sessions led by Alan Resse and his band the New Orleans Quarter Notes.. there will be a reunion performance by The Kingsman (the band Harry joined when he was 14) - they were hoping to have this reunion before Harry left us but that did not happen - so they are reuniting in his honor.

We will have Harry's Fender Stratocaster on site and we will ask all the musicians that play that day to autograph it and then we will auction it off for the Harry's Hats foundation at a later date. I will have more information on the mission of the organization at the event.

Harry & Eddie Fresche the day I gave him the guitar

The Saints game will be on as they play the Miami Dolphins in Miami that day at 3pm. We are having this event so that those who could not attend the funeral have their opportunity to say goodbye.

If you are a musician and would like to participate please contact Alan Reese at 504-289-2167 or email him at noquarternotes@yahoo.com or leave a message at home for me 504-219-1521 or email me at mr2ndline@yahoo.com and I will get your information to Alan.

I also want to thank in advance John Blancher of Rock N Bowl for always being so kind and to Sherman Bernard for always being there for Harry and I. I will post musicians as they agree to perform - so come back often and see what the updates are.

I am also trying to compile a list of all the bands Harry played with during his life. If Harry played with you please send me the band name so that I can recognize them at the event.

Thanks and I hope to see you there,,

Memorial Celebration - October 25th - Rock N Bowl & Harry Hat's website

There will be music, the Saints game will be on the screens (they are playing Miami in Miami at 3), and an opportunity for anyone who wishes to speak about Harry to do so. I know a lot of you were unable to attend the funeral - Harry wanted his memorial here to be a celebration.

The foundation logo is almost complete. I have finished a concept proposal for a fund raising event and will hopefully get to propose it to a very public figure and garner their support to make it a reality. Working on other suggestions. So I guess today was a good day overall. Now if I could just sleep more than an hour at a time..

Miss ya honey

who knew

Who knew that going to the grocery store would be so hard. I guess it was the first time I went without people here to shop for the house. I kept wanting to pick things up for you only to realize that you are not home anymore. Reality really sunk in.

I miss you so much.

Came Home Last Night

The house is so empty without you. I want to go back 2 years and relive the whole time we were in the house.

But I can't do that - I have to look forward and make the best of it.

Harry - you would be happy with the new unit. Checking in with your Mom everyday - she needs to slow down - maybe she will while I am gone - we've been going full out for a while.

Love ya and miss ya terribly

Headstone

Harry - I still have a few things to decide on but the headstone will be beautiful. Your Mom was a great help in making some decisions. She seemed to really enjoy the gumbo with the family. I think we truly laughed for the first time in a while. We are still having some "of course" moments - but I will look into it for her. I miss you and love you.

Going to see a bunch of people this week about your foundation and your memorial celebration..

You would have been so happy yesterday

Karen, Missy, Raymond, the boys and your Mom were all here along with your Cousin Mike Sr and Mike Jr. They fixed they roof, helped me move some stuff around and made the yard look amazing. We were able to move some stuff around today but it still is so hard. Thank you for all the drops in.. on the soap opera and under siege this morning. It comforts me to see things with your hand print all over them. I am going to meet with some people soon about your memorial and foundation. I hope I am doing things the way you want them - I can only try. I am starting to reach out a little more.

I miss you and love you..

Thank You

Today is hard .... but only for me and Harry's Mom.. He is resting peacefully in Rayne, LA. Thank you again for all the kind words, gestures and support over the past year. It was quite a year.. We met some wonderful health care people who gave us hope. Harry and I grew closer than we had ever been, he reunited with his mother, his friends showed him how much they cared - the benefits were amazing, he found a whole bunch of cousins, and had all of his in-laws get closer to us. Without each of you the last year would have been unbearable. He had a very touching and proud send off. Thank you to those who could attend and to those for which the turn around was too quick - I intend to have a memorial for him in New Orleans in October and create a foundation in his name to help Musicians and Masons with cancer.. It may take a couple of days before you here from me again but know that each of you are in my heart and I thank you for all you have done ...

Mona Ravain & Joycelyn Adams

Arrangements

I will be posting the arrangements for Harry later today. It was his wish that he be buried where I am to be - so all the services will be in Rayne, Louisiana. Rayne is just past Lafayette on I-10. I am hoping to have visitation on Saturday and burial on Sunday - but that is not conclusive yet and won't be until this afternoon..

Again - thanks to all you have stood by us along the way. Harry was a great man and the only things he ever needed were his friends, family and more importantly his drums. I pray that has already written and performed a new song and that it is one of joy..

He's Gone

Harry left this world at 615pm this evening.. Surrounded by friends and family he has joined God's Band..

Thank you all

More peaceful - much less pain..

Harry has had a very quiet and restful night. We seem to really have controlled his pain - I am able to move him a little without disturbing him. God has granted us that small favor. Just pray that he stays comfortable and peaceful until he and God are through..

Thank you all

Mona

resting well

Harry is snoring.. Good sign that he is getting pain relief..

Full Day of Visitors

Many of you came by today to see Harry and I cannot tell you how it warms my heart to have you come to see him. He is breathing a little heavier today than yesterday and he is drinking less water than before.. So his time is coming and he and God seem to be at peace with each other..

thanks again

Mona

Another Quiet Night

Harry is still resting - thank you for your calls and prayers.

Hospice Came Today

Harry is now officially under hospice care. And after all that they brought him a medicine to relax him and of course it is a flavor that he hates and when I gave it to him - he told me to take it back.

He is peaceful - surrounded by friends and family all day.

My brother is here with me....

Quiet Night

Harry is resting peacefully again - he wanted to turn and that was painful for him but we (Bobby) and I got him where he wanted to be. He was able to take some pain medication last night.

Hospice should be here this morning and I will update again after they leave..

Monday, August 3, 2009

Lots of visitors - thank you

I would like to thank all of you for your visits today - it is heartwarming to know how many of you care about Harry.

Hospice - still has not come and will not until the morning but Harry's doctor came by this afternoon to see him and told me that the end is very near. The swelling in his throat are the tumors and they are growing.

I will continue to update as often as I can - please let others know - I have tried to reach some by phone that do not have a computer but I am sure I am missing important people.. if I do please apologize for me.

When the time comes I will make sure that the arrangements are posted here.

I am very proud of Harry for his courage and the way he has fought but the time has come for him to go home with his head held high and to play drums with all of his friends in heaven.

thank you again.. I love you all

Waiting on Hospice

Home Health is calling the Doctor for Hospice orders - I will update when I have more information.. He is very still, very peaceful and resting - with no sound..

Keep Praying for him..

No Change

Harry is still sleeping. He has had some pain medication. Waiting to hear from Hospice today. There was paperwork to handle that could not be done till today. Pray for him. He seems peaceful.

Sunday, August 2, 2009

I have called in Hospice

Harry had a day full of visitors.. his Mom; my sisters and their husbands, Johnny and Bootsie. But Harry is not getting any better so after much prayer and thought and tears I made the call today to start the process to have Hospice come and make the transition easier for him. Thank you all for all you have done - please know that each of you hold a very special place in our hearts - we could not have fought the fight without your support. I will post often.. check back..

thank you for all your thoughts and prayers

We truly appreciate all of them.

Pain Medicine

Harry took some pain medicine around midnight - finally he slept for a little while - he also let me roll him.. Groaning a little this morning - I am going to try to get him to take another pain pill..I was able to get him to take another one.. hopefully this will help him

Pray for him today

Saturday, August 1, 2009

No change

Harry is refusing to take any of his medications and refusing to wear his oxygen. But he is sleeping and breathing peacefully. I am pretty sure he and God are working this out..

Still No Change -

Harry is still resting quietly -

Darren - thank you for helping me out - it may not have seemed like much - but it was.

Peaceful Night

Harry had a peaceful night. Pray that he and God are working together for what is right for him, give me the will to accept their decision.

Friday, July 31, 2009

No Change

Harry is sleeping day and night with very little response. I am praying that the steroids change that - staying very quiet and praying for a recovery..

Please check here regularly - the phone makes him jump..

I promise to keep posting updates..

Decent Night

Changed his medicines last night. His body is still aching quite a bit but he slept through the night without too much trouble. Yesterday we were able to talk for a little while and that made me feel better. Hopefully this medicine change will show some improvement over the next day or so. His Mom is coming today and my sister and her husband are coming for the weekend to help.

I am calling home health today to see if they did anything about getting a hospital bed. He would be more comfortable in that I think. Anyway - we'll see how all the new things work out ..

I'll update more this afternoon..

Thursday, July 30, 2009

Spoke with a couple of doctors today

They are changing up his meds a little in hope of getting him some energy and hopefully eating, the consequence is higher blood sugars but if it gets him moving.. we'll deal with that..

thanks for all your prayers..

Both the Nurse and Physical Therapist Came today

I spoke with both of them and we agreed so I have put some calls into the doctors to see about adjusting his medicines to see if that helps at all...

Now just waiting on the calls...

Both said he seemed better today..

A little better this morning

I am a little encouraged by his reaction to me staying home today. He has already had a glucerna and turned in the bed. I am going to talk to the home care nurse today - I think I may know what is causing the extreme fatigue. Anyway - thank you for all the prayers - please pray for his strength to return...

Not So Good

Harry is sleeping all the time now. I am not sure where we are headed but I have taken tomorrow off to spend the day at home taking care of him. Pray for Harry ro have the strength to tell me how he wants to go forward, give me the will to accept the answer he gives me.

Please if you have it within your heart - ask God to help me give him what he needs and ask God that his will be done for Harry and that Harry gets peace, comfort and if my prayers are answered health and energy.

Thanks to all of you - I will post again tomorrow after the nurse comes in the morning.

Too Much for a Short Title

Harry Mom came over yesterday and was able to get him to eat a little more than he has been, he also asked for pudding last night when I have him his meds so that was encouraging. He was unable to do much with Physical Therapy yesterday - maybe on Friday with his CNA - exercising his legs.

And in the Of Course category... my neighbor AL came by to let me know that one of the teenage boys that roam the neighborhood threw a large rock through one of my windows. So I had to call the cops and deal with the one of the kids of that group who of course "didn't know who did it" in front of his parent and the cops but sure boasted to a bunch of other kids yesterday afternoon. I explained to the brat in front of his parents that - had they thrown the rock into the next window - they would have hit Harry and I cannot begin to tell them what kind of -ell they would have paid. So with everything else - now I have to have a window fixed.

Stephanie and her friend Courtney (Al & Bonnie's daughter - my neighbors) helped me tape it up for now. Also Mike Sr & Jr. Al has offered to cut my grass with a riding lawnmower - if I can get someone to weed eat - (that is probably spelled really wrong)

Anyway -that is how my day ended and begins - there is good and bad everyday and as someone who was really wise one told me - it's not the event - it's how you handle it.

God - I give today over to you.

Sleep

Harry was able to sleep soundly from 6pm until this morning. His mother is with him today - I hope she can coax him into eating - I was not able. She sure is good for him and I am glad she was able to visit today. Physical Therapy is starting at 11am - hopefully he will work with them to get his strength back. thanks to all for your prayers - more after lunch

Still Nauseated - Still tired

Harry had another long day. The physical therapist came by and Harry stood for a few seconds but was too weak to continue. Not really interested in eating but I am going to try a little later to push - he'll probably hate me for a while but that's my job if he wants to get better.

Next try tomorrow at 11am..

I will be moving furniture again tonight to help him get PT on track with him. His mom may come by tomorrow - that could help because I do not seem to be motivating him today - no matter what I do.

A very special thanks to my job.. the grace in which you have treated me has lifted my heart and eased my mind and refreshed my spirit.

Chemptherapy - giving Harry a run for his money

Harry is doing ok. This chemotherapy is supposed to make you nauseated...and it is living up to its expectation. He has not thrown up but he feels not so good. Hopefully that will start to subside. The physical therapist is supposed to come today and Ms. Lillie also starts with us today.

Harry is very tired and nauseated as I said - so I will post as often as I can to update you. He really is not up to chatting just yet - maybe in a day or 2.

Also our congratulations go out to my Godmother and her Husband they were named Golden King and Queen of the Frog Festival in Rayne Lousisana yesterday - wish we could have been there...Prayers to my Uncle Wilmur - may God's plan for you be revealed as it is supposed to be. And Please say a prayer for Harry's Aunt Ethel - in the hospital with a combination of issues..

Love to all
I will post again later..

Saturday - Home Health - Etc

Harry had a good night.. His blood sugars were really low most of the day yesterday but they are coming back up - which is good.

The side effects of this chemotherapy are more predominant than the last ones and they have greatly reduced the strength and kind of steroid he is on - so he has a little less energy for now.

Yesterday home health and occupational health came to the house to evaluate him and the house. Next up is a PT Therapist named Chris - have not met him yet.

We have hired one of his Mom's CNAs Lillie, to assist while I am at work and to be for him. She a very nice lady.

The occupational therapist will come back in a week to re- assess him, so the nurse will visit 2 times and the PT guy everyday except Sunday - I think.

He is asking to do things today he has not in the past week - so I am encouraged.

My husband is a remarkable man for fighting the way he has, I would not have his courage. Neither he nor God are obviously through yet. So it is in their hands and it is their decision.

Thanks to all who have been so kind and to God for dropping the right people at the right time with the things we need when we need them. This has not been an easy journey but it has been one that has opened doors, shown us grace and hopefully allowed us to do the same.

Now I have to straighten out the house..

Take care..

We got home last night

I am sorry I did not post last night - but there was a lot to do to get him settled in. I still have a lot to do around the house but he is where he wants to be. I am waiting to hear from physical therapy to see what their orders are. I have also hired a nursing assistant so I can go back to work and he can get assistance all day.

So I will let you know how this all goes. I have an appointment to get my hair done - his mom will be here while I do that.

Thanks you again for all you have done...

Waiting on one more doc and a couple of more prescriptions

We are waiting for the diabetes doctor to write the his insulin prescriptions.. And the air conditioner problem was just a fan motor -YEAH... his oxygen has been delivered at home - so we are one step closer to wheeling out..

Thank you Bobby, Mike Sr and Mike Jr - your efforts today are remarkable - I could not have handled all this without you

going home

we are going home at sometime today. and since it is not like checking out of a hotel - this could take all day.. but he is very happy and we are going home with oxygen and physical therapy. And we have not figured out the air conditioner yet but a friend thinks it is just a fan issue.. I sure hope so. Maybe Harry's luck is wearing off on me.

I will post again when we get home

6am - update

I am guessing Harry had a restful night because I slept through it and he did not wake me up. He woke up for a moment this morning and he seems to be alright. We start lobbying this morning to be sent home and praying that the air conditioner at home was just frozen and that it starts working, otherwise my luck is continuing at its usual rate. Oh well one event at a time.

I will update as the day goes on..

Thursday, July 23, 2009

5pm Update

Well - he is still doing well.. he blood sugars are getting in line with a tremendous amount of adjustments to the type, amount and frequency of insulin. They have also dropped the oxygen from 4 to 2.5 and his oxygenation is staying around 93%.

We are pretty sure he will get out either tomorrow or Saturday. He will have to take Neupogen shots for the next 8 days - so we are not home free with the chemo yet but he sure came out on top this morning. One of the reasons they treatments are so far apart is what it does to your blood. So I am praying that it does not knock him down too far.

So early tomorrow we start lobbying the physicians to go home..

Thanks to everyone who has had a hand in prayer and those who actually cared for him.

We could be going home with oxygen and respiratory treatments - we'll see..

take care

Mona

Noon Update

Well - we've already had a full day. Harry managed to make it completely through chemotherapy with no nausea - in fact he ate while it was going on. They have given him lots of nausea meds. He also ate a full breakfast and worked extremely well with Physical Therapy - he walked 6-8' and did some leg exercises but got very tired from that and I am sure the chemotherapy. Anyway - while he was doing therapy - I was able to change the bed and clean him up. Jan and Vincent came to visit and gave me a break - thank you and while I was gone he had a chest xray. His blood sugars have been down 100 points today on average which is spectacular and it is looking more promising every hour that we can go home.. We are still waiting to see the Diabetes doc.. but overall a very very good day so far.

If you are not sure - it truly is liberating to turn over to God all that is in front of you and only request that his outcome be the one that happens..

Thanks to all of you for your support & prayers and I will post again later this afternoon..

right now I am going to try to nap - I think they are through with us - except for lunch.

Mona

4am - chemotherapy

Thankfully Harry has been asleep 95% of the day. It is 4am and they actually after 7 hours of fluids and pre meds have finally started his actual chemotherapy treatment. This should take another 2 to 3 hours - hopefully he will sleep through it all and no one will come to draw blood, take his blood pressure etc until this is complete. I am praying that he gets no nausea or other common side effects. The one I am sure he will get it one of the drugs causes food to taste metallic - but I hope it is less this time than before. After spending the last few hours researching the protocol - it appears he will get this treatment every 3 weeks for up to 6 rounds. He will have to have B12 and Folic Acid to help his body through this - these were started earlier this week.

Harry and God are now in control and I trust that the outcome will be what it is supposed to be.

Thank you all for your prayers - I will let you know in a few hours how he does.

chemotherapy is starting tonight

Dr. Schwarzenberger is treating harry tonight with chemotherapy.. they are about to start the pre meds then chemo should begin around 1am and run through 3am. Pray that he does not get too sick from it. So I will be up watching him tonight to be sure that if he needs anything I can get it for him.

Please pray for him..

Mona

chemotherapy and physical therapy

Harry will have chemotherapy this afternoon and they are also going to start physical therapy to strengthen his legs today.

He has never had a full dose of chemotherapy - so we have no idea how he is going to react to it. I will post again tonight when it is done.

Thank you again for all your prayers..

Good Night

Harry had a very good night - he got to eat and drink - waiting on the parade of doctors to see what is going on and when we are getting out.. I think we will be home by Saturday - let's hope..

Surgery is complete

Harry had surgery this afternoon to put in a Bard Power Port. They decided early this morning to avoid further complications to have the Radiology Doctor that did his biopsy to place the port under a CT Scan. He came through brilliantly and the first thing he asked for was a Sugar Free Chocolate Snowball - so I got him one. He has eaten very well this evening.

They have added a few new items to the medication menu and it seems to be working.. Dr. Murray has his hands full trying to control the diabetes with all the steroids but he is working on it.

Harry should have a full chemotherapy treatment tomorrow - and I have been told to expect a 7 or 8 hour infusion.

If all goes well and they get his sugars to cooperate - I feel like we could go home this weekend.

Oh BTW - the chemo treatment will be once every 3 weeks..
thanks for all the prayers and visits - without them we would not be where we are today - thank you thank you thank you

Tonight - things are a little calmer

Harry is doing better tonight. His lung is still partially collapsed but it is getting better with every passing hour. He has a new diabetes doctor and I think he will finally get control of it.. Still no idea when we are going to do the surgery - but he has once again "bounced back"..

Thanks to all of you for the prayers - your power is stronger than you think..

Mona

Biopsy Complete - No Surgery

Harry made it through the biopsy this morning, but he had a partial lung collapse. At this time they have decided not to do any intervention at this time - they are waiting to see if it increases or decreases. Dr. Sandoz that did the biopsy believes there is some sort of infection or pneumonia in his lungs which means no surgery today. They will make decisions about what to do next at 1pm and 3pm. So I will update you when I know what is going on.

Mona

Biopsy and Surgery

Today is going to be a very long day. Harry had a very decent night and is facing all of this with such a great spirit. I do not think if I were in his shoes I would have his strength and courage. We've been on quite the roller coaster ride over the past year. So anyway we are waiting for him to be taken down for the first procedure. I am sure all will go very well.

No indication of leaving the hospital yet - I will update later after things start happening.

Please pray for us today..

Harry got better as the day went along

Yesterday was a very up and down day. Harry was very very sedate yesterday morning.. by late afternoon - after some medicine and respiratory treatments he was more alert and by 10pm last night had taken back control of the remote - that is when I knew things were looking up a bit.

For all those who sent prayers out for him yesterday - thank you God answered your prayers and mine.

I will post more this evening - after all the doctors - visit.

Mona

Harry is in the Hospital

Harry was admitted to the hospital last night because his oxygen levels were low and his blood sugars were high. He is supposed to have a biopsy on Monday and they will try to put another port in then. The surgeon would not do that yesterday because of the other factors.

Now more than ever we need your prayers.

Thursday, July 16, 2009

Update - procedures; surgery and chemo

Harry has a steroid shot in his spine today and it seems to have already lessened the pain. Tomorrow at noon Harry is having surgery to put another port in - please pray there are no clots and no staph infections. Monday - back to the hospital for a biopsy and Tuesday he starts chemo.

Dr. Schwarezenberger is really being aggressive and his staff is wonderful. So lots of prayers are needed..

Harry will be tired for a few days - and me too..

thanks

Our Nephew Andrew, Niece Kaylin and Harry

Andrew came to visit us this weekend from Texas. He's our nephew that graduated from High School in June. He and Harry did lots and lots of work on all the drum sets in the house. He lifted Harry's spirits, found things I could have never found in a million years and made today a great day at our house.

Yesterday we went to Jack Dempsey's for lunch then took a ride down to the parish (St. Bernard) to see the Islenos Museum. You see my family is directly descendant of Juan de Alleman that came over on the 3 boats sent by Spain from the Canary Islands to America.

My niece Kaylin - is doing great and may be released from the hospital today. -

So Harry is doing good - hoping that the injection helps him get some strength back and Dr. S finds a way to beat this thing for a while longer..

Cypress Tree Band, College Inn Dinner and Doctor Update

Last night we went to the College Inn for dinner and it was great - then went over to Rock N Bowl to watch some friend - Willie T, Warren Storm and the Cypress Tree Band. You guys sounded great. So we got home pretty late.

Harry talked to Dr. Swarzenburger late yesterday afternoon and he told him they are going to have to do another biopsy to see if the new treatment he wants to do will work. So I guess we will find out more on Monday or so - when all of this will occur.
We see him again on Wednesday and Thursday Harry get the injection for his herniated disk - let's hope that works so he gets some relief.

My niece Kaylin had major back surgery in Dallas this week - she is doing very well. And our nephew Andrew is coming from Texas for a visit.

Jackie - thank you for alleviating my fears..

Take care and thanks for all the prayers

Dr. Paul Schwarzenberger - New Oncologist ; Dr. Martinez - DIsk Pain Management

The fight has only begun.

Harry saw a new Dr. today and he already has named off 3 different ways to treat Harry before we resort to standard chemotherapy. The doctor is going to look into some pathology tests and then decide which way to go. We should hear by Friday and see him again on Wednesday of next week.

Harry is also going to see Dr. Martinez - for the steroid injection to aleviate the pain in his herniated disk.

So we are very encouraged with the new path that he will be taking.

We so appreciate - all of you - there is no way to repay your kindness, support and friendship

Good 4th of July Weekend - New Doctor on Wednesday

Harry had a very busy beginning of July. Besides all the doctor visits - we went to Gonzales to spend the 4Th with Harry's family and we brought his mother along - she is doing remarkable since her surgery. Sunday we had a few friends and family over for Roast - he really enjoyed that..

And thanks to Bob - Harry got to talk to one of his heroes - Dino Danelli - the drummer from The Rascals - that was a real special treat for him. Huge smile for the rest of the day.

Wednesday we are going to see a "new" oncologist - at least he is new to us - for a second opinion.. We have a late afternoon appointment and I do not know when I will have information from him. I don't know if he just wants to meet Harry this time or if he is going to order new tests, treatments etc... but when I have a full grasp of it I will post..

We are waiting to hear from the Doctor that will be doing the steroid injection for his herniated disk - they are getting insurance approval - then he will have that done.. I hope that works - so he can get some relief from all the pain in his hip and leg..

Otherwise - he is maneuvering well and is generally good.

Thursday, July 2, 2009

not so good...

We've seen several doctors today. Dr. Thomas is setting Harry up with a physician for a steroid injection to try to relieve the pain in his back and leg. We saw Dr. Cosgriff and were not at all happy with his suggestions - so we have asked one of his other doctors for assistance and will be seeing a new medical oncologist - sometime next week. Also many thanks to Moreau and Bobby Eichorn for your assistance at the eye doctor this morning.. do not know what we'd do without ya'll..

Both of us are pretty exhausted and need some sleep - so I am signing out for now and we'll get back to you guys after the 4th..

Love to all

Doctor Visit

We had a couple of Dr. visits today. I am sorry to inform you that the cancer tumors in his lymph nodes in his neck did not respond to radiation, in fact the tumors have grown. Dr. Monsour called Dr. Black's office and got us an appointment with Dr. Cosgriff because Dr. Black is out of the country, so he will have to have some kind of chemotherapy. The fight is not over yet. He is increasingly more tired and the tumor is pressing on a nerve - affecting his right eye.

So tomorrow we go to see the surgeon about his herniated disk and Dr Cosgriff about chemotherapy immediately. I will post more when I have more..

Thanks

Thursday AM an eye doctor appointment and PM an appointment with the doctor about his herniated disc. Sorry I have been updating as usual but I was out of town nearly all month. I promise better updating in the future. Again thank you to each of you that attended and donated at the benefit. You will never know how much it has meant to both of us. I breathe easier at night because of your assistance and I can focus on taking care of him instead of money.

Harry's Mom & Harry's Health

Harry's Mom had surgery this afternoon to remove a blockage in her intestines. She came through surgery with flying colors and is in CCU for a couple of days - so that she gets closer attention than being on a floor.

She has been sick for a while and we are praying that she is spry very soon.

We also saw Dr Monsour - Harry has a CT scheduled for June 30th - that is when we will find out about how the 2nd round of radiation worked.. But other than being tired - he is doing remarkably well. Harry also has an appointment with Dr. Black on Friday.. I will update after that visit..

Long Day Today

Harry and I made the trip to Alexandria for Duane's wake. What a wonderful gathering - we are only sorry that it was under those circumstances that we get to see everyone again.

Harry's Mom has been in the hospital since Monday evening. They have been doing several tests and yesterday we thought they had solved the issue. They did not.. she will have surgery sometime today to remove part of her intestines. I am calling the hospital after shift change to see if there is any more definitive information - so we will be at the hospital later.

Harry also has a doctor appointment today, Friday and Wednesday of next week. We should get some answers about how the radiation worked.

I will post the benefit information later today..

In 2005 (13,900 miles) the following additions were performed: All chrome on the bike was replaced including engine chrome, transmission covers, brake rotors (polished S.S.), front fork, handlebars and all handlebar mounted controls, mirrors. The standard fuel injection system was replaced with a high performance 'Bob Woods' carburetor and ignition system. Update & Other News

Harry is doing well. He is a little more tired but overall in very good spirits. We start back on the doctor circuit next Wednesday.

For those of you who know him Duane Yates, one of the Boogie Kings Harry played with for years had a heart attack on Sunday and as of yesterday afternoon was still in ICU but hopefully he will get to a private room today - please keep him in your prayers.

There is also a Memorial Service for Billy Bell on Saturday from 12-3pm. Harry and I will be attending to honor this great drummer - who is already missed dearly...

There are some upcoming benefits planned - I will post them under their own heading..

Busy Saturday - Quiet Sunday

Yesterday was a very busy day for Harry. He took his mother to her high school reunion at Andrea's Restaurant. Of course he did too much as a first outing but thanks to Bobby Eichorn and Ray - the day was very successful. A good time was had by all and thanks to Moreau for all the beautiful long stem roses - for all the ladies and me. I love fresh flowers.

Today has been very quiet and I promised him we would go out for lunch if he took a nap and that is what he is doing now. He is feeling better - last week was quite rough but we made it through another hurdle with the help of a lot of family, friends, physicians and their staffs, and all of the nurses in CCU and especially those on 5 West. A very special thanks to all of you who visited him in the hospital - your are all angels in my eyes.

Mike Jr. and Chase - thank you so much for Friday - I only hope Chase enjoyed it as much as Harry - I am sorry Mike and April but if Harry gets a chance to influence him - you will have a drummer on your hands for life.

Mike Sr. Jan and Bob - there are no words for all you do - thanks ...

Missy & Raymond, Karen & Mac - I don't have the words to express how much you mean and how much you help me get through all of this.. I am able to get through each day because I know you have my back. Mike & Michele - your support is greatly appreciated. I think Mom and Dad look down everyday and are proud of the children they raised even though some of us fought them all the way.

Mom - Happy Belated Mother's Day and early Happy Father's Day Dad - even though you are gone - we feel your spirit and love every day - Thank you for being who you were.

Ok - back to the laundry..

thanks and love to all

Harry is Home

I brought Harry home from the hospital this morning. He completed his radiation while he was in the hospital. He will finish his oral chemotherapy at home. He is now on a bunch of new medications and has no doctor appointments for 2 weeks. He will begin some type of chemotherapy after that but they are making that decision in 2 weeks.

I apologize for not updating like I should have.

surgery - 1pm

surgery tomorrow

I do not have any specifics yet..

Sunday

Harry had a great day. He had some special visitors. It looks like the clot is virtually gone. They have decided to take the port out either today or tomorrow. I am awaiting the shift change to get answers..

thanks to all of you who showed up and call

I love you from the bottom of my heart.

Good Day

The TPA and heparin are working to dissolve the clot. It has not dissolved to the extent they wanted so Harry is still in CCU at EJGH. They will be doing another procedure at 9am tomorrow morning. At that time they will decide if he stays in CCU another day or returns to the 5th floor.

After we get through with this episode Harry will have to have surgery to remove the port they put in on Monday. It is obvious that his body does not like it and to eliminate the risk of future blood clots - they will remove it.. but he will go home first. After that it seems that they will insert a pic(spelling????) line into his arm and administer the chemotherapy that way instead.

I am at the airport heading to Arizona for a short work trip. Much to Harry's disappointment he will probably stay in the hospital until I return.

I will be contacting some of you for assistance in visiting with him and checking on him when he returns to the 5th floor until I get home and someone to take him home if they release him ahead of time.

He has his cell phone with him - but remember he is pretty tired right now. Please feel free to call me on my cell 504-416-9141 if you want to ask questions or offer to spend some time with him.

Thank you for your support - we could not do this without you..

all our love

Harry and Mona

Blood Clot

Harry's blood clot was not nearly as cooperative as we wanted it to be. They tried a procedure to remove it and that did not work so he spent the night in CCU while they have him on TPA and heparin to try and remove the clot. At 11am this morning they are going to look and see what progress has been made and see where we go from here..

He is in great spirits and handling all of this very well..

thanks for all the prayers - more after the procedure..

Harry is at EJGH

Last night Harry was admitted to East Jefferson General Hospital. His arm was swelling and they discovered he has a blot clot in his neck. So they began a course of blood thinners last night. So he will be visited by at least 3 doctors before a decision is made as to what they are going to do. I will update the blog later today.

He is back on the fifth floor with all his favorite nurses..

Harry, Me , His Cousins and the lawn....

Harry is doing good after his surgery - he hurt a bit yesterday, but that is to be expected. He will start chemotherapy treatment on Friday monring..

I have finally slowed down enough that a cold got a hold of me. I spent almost 3 hours yesterday at urgent care but got 2 shots and 3 prescriptions. I feel better and will go back to work tomorrow.

Thanks to Cousin Mike Sr, and Jan.. for taking time out of your day to help up by cutting the grass.. thank you for your kindness.

I will post more on the benefit, poker run and motorcycle for sale later today.. I should feel good enough to do that..

Surgery was a breeze

Harry is back home after a successful surgery. We got to the hospital at 6am and were headed to lunch by noon.

He is in very good condition and resting as I type. Back to radiation tomorrow and they will set up a chemotherapy schedule for him soon.

thank you for all your prayers

Oral Chemotherapy and Surgery

Harry has been on Oral Chemotherapy for the past 3 days and he seems to be tolerating it very very well. We went out the other night and he has been in the studio some - overall he seems to be doing really well.

Monday morning - Dr. Karlin is putting a new Bard Port in. We have to be there early and he should have the surgery around 9am. I am expecting to be home by early afternoon. He is not looking forward to having one put back in since the last one got infected and had to be taken out, but other than the anxiety - all is good.

Thanks for all the prayers -

Doctor Visits

We started the morning with a visit to Dr. Jeanfreau - he increased Harry's diabetes medicine - Harry is on a lot of steroids and that increases his blood sugar.

Next we saw Dr. Black, his oncologist.. He is putting Harry on Chemotherapy in pill form until he can get a port put back in.. We see the surgeon on Tuesday. The original port was removed back in October because of an infection. It is a simple surgery - Harry came through it with flying colors last time and I suspect it will be the same.. last time we went in at noon and were home before 5pm. After that Harry will get half doses of chemotherapy while he is on radiation therapy then probably a full dose.

And last we saw Dr. Schuette - his pulmonologist. He explained that this new round of cancer is really an extension of the first diagnosis but had not grown to sufficient sizes to be identified. What has reappeared is all in the lymph nodes and they are in the same area as the previous ones - so it has not spread beyond chest and is really a part of the same disease that existed the first time. So there are new tumors - none of it is as big as the first treatment area and all in the lymph nodes.

Both of us walked out of this long day with a much better feeling about this whole new round. It is still serious and all of us are hoping that the cancer responds like it did the first time and if it does - great! If the cancer does not respond then the prognosis is not so good. But we are going to be optimistic that the cancer will respond to treatment as it did before..

So thank you for your prayers and support...

And a personal note.. Bobby West.. rest in peace - you will be missed..

Doctor Visit - and visits

Harry saw Dr. Monsour yesterday when he went for radiation therapy. He adjusted the pain and other medications. Today Harry will get the 6th of 20 radiation treatments. Tomorrow is see a bunch of doctors day - he has appointments with his Medical Internist; Medical Oncologist, and his Pulmonologist with a radiation treatment in between. So my guess is he will be very tired by the end of the day. I will update tomorrow night on all the visits..

thanks for all your prayers and support..

Drum Class; Dinner with Friends and less pain

Yesterday Harry's little cousin Chase came by for a visit while his dad cut our lawn (thank you Mike). Harry custom cut some drumsticks for him and showed him the drums. Pictures were taken by Janice and Mike Sr. and as soon as I get them I will post them. Harry was beaming when he described it to me last night.

Harry also had a great night out with musician friends.. thank you Bobby.

He had his 2nd radiation treatment yesterday and number 3 today. He is in a lot less pain with the new medication and that make me happy...

So Thursday April 16, 2009 was a very very good day in the Ravain Household..

Thanks for all the prayers..

Harry is back in therapy...

Harry started radiation again yesterday.. He will go everyday at 3pm for 20 days excluding weekends. The pain has gotten much worse so they added oral pain medication for the breakthrough pain. He seemed to have a pretty good night after he got a couple of pills in.

I want to take a minute to thank Dr. Monsour and his staff. If you remember back when Harry finished his first round of radiation treatment I said Harry was going to miss seeing all of these guys everyday, well I can't think of a better place for him to go everyday for help and encouragement. What a class act everyone in that office is.

He is looking forward to his cousin Mike Jr and his son Chase are coming over today to help out by cutting the grass. Harry wants to show Chase his new set of drums he even cut down a pair of drum sticks just for him. Then Harry is going to dinner with some music buddies.. So all in all it should be a good day for him.

Thanks for all the prayers -

Mona

Dr. Monsour

I just spoke with Dr. Monsour and they are going to start radiation therapy again today.. don't know how many treatments but hopefully he will start to feel better soon..

Tax Day and other stuff

Hope all of you have finished your taxes and are having a quiet day. We went to dinner last night with Harry's Ravain cousins last night and he truly enjoyed himself. His new treatment rounds have not started yet but I suspect that will happen in the next day or two. His pain has increased over the past couple of days - have a call into the doctor for that and new things pop up everyday. But all in all he is well - he tires faster than a week ago but we are charging ahead. He will not see his medical oncologist until the 23rd so probably no chemotherapy until the end of April or the beginning of May because he will have to have surgery to put a new port in - they took the other one out in October when it got infected. I will post more when I have more.

New Treatment

Harry had an appointment with Dr. Monsour today.. they marked him for his new round of radiation therapy. Dr. Monsour will spend the next day or 2 mapping his treatment plan. Harry's cancer is definitely back and has spread to the lymph nodes in his upper chest near his throat, this is causing new pains and his right eye to droop.

Dr. Monsour says he has a 50/50 chance of getting the cancer. If he is not able to beat it the prognosis is not good, 6 months to a year. We of course are going to pray that he is able to combat the cancer.

He has also sent us back to the medical oncologist. We are waiting to hear back on when his appointment will be and whether or not they will be doing chemotherapy as well.

So the posts will become more frequent again.. I will post any news and updates as soon as I have the information.

Thanks for all the prayers and support..

Update

I have some not so good news. The cancer is back and it is bigger than when we started. The doctor called Harry directly so I have few details other than he will be undergoing radiation and chemotherapy treatments again. On Monday we go for a simulation scan.. I do not know what that is but we go at 1:30pm. When Dr. Monsour spoke with Harry he said he was going to have to get fancy with him.. Again I do not know what it means but whenever I have a chance to speak with a doctor and get details I will and I will update it here.

So we need another round of prayer..

Thank you for all your support..

Love Mona & Harry

PET Fusion Scan

Harry had a PET Fusion Scan today and we expect the results sometime tomorrow... I will post as soon as I have information..

A First for Us..

A few years ago Harry bought us matching bikes for Christmas. Due to my lack of enthusiasm - we never used them. However while I was out of town my sister Missy and her husband Raymond and son Jay came to visit Harry and help out around the house and one of the things he fixed was the tires on the bikes. Well yesterday we rode around the neighborhood for 30 minutes... Harry really really enjoyed it.

So more on Wednesday after the PET Fusion

Dr Visit

Harry had an appointment with Dr. Monsour yesterday. He has scheduled another PET Scan for next Wednesday. I am not sure what they are looking for but Harry has been sweating for the past 3 weeks and he has had a couple of bad days - so I guess it is better to be safe than sorry.. But he had a fabulous day yesterday.

Thanks for all your support..

Friday, March 27th

Well things are going good except Harry is still breaking out with sweats everyday. He has been in the studio in the last two weeks and that has gone very well. And now they are working on a 2nd benefit event. At the first benefit someone decided very kindly to donate a Harley Motorcycle to Harry to raffle off to help defray expenses. They are still deciding on a date. But it will be held at the New - Rock N Bowl - no stairs to climb! When there are more details - such as raffle ticket price and where to get them, musical line up and times for the event - I will let you know.

I am headed to Arizona for work tomorrow.

Take care all

Love Mona

Test Update

We spoke with Dr. Jarnfreau today and he said that there is still fibrosis from the radiation in the lungs -which is causing the coughing... but there is no infection... So we still charge forward.. Harry was in the studio today and will be again tomorrow.. with lots of rest in between. Thanks for all the prayers - we still need them.

Mona

Another Episode

I am going to call Dr. Jeanfreau's office today - Harry had another freezing sweating episode yesterday - it kept him in bed most of the day. He is looking forward to going to the studio today.. let's hope there are no more episodes.

Saturday, March 14, 2009

I guess no news is good news

We have not heard anything back from Dr. Jeanfreau's office - so I am guessing nothing is serious.. quiet weekend..take care all

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Dr. Jeanfreau

Yesterday Harry had a freezing and sweating episode. It reminded me of when he had a staph infection - so I called Dr. Jeanfreau since we were seeing him this week and he moved his appointment to this morning. He could not see anything obvious and does not think it is serious but he did blood work and ordered a chest x-ray for tomorrow. He is waiting on the results to make any medication change or addition decisions. We will let you know when we know more.

Thanks - Mona

Tuesday March 10

Well all things are still chugging along. He is still coughing quite a bit and we see Dr. Jeanfreau on Friday - maybe he will have some ideas..

Anyway - just wanted to drop a note in..

Mona

Monday March 2nd

A few weeks ago they decided that they would let Harry heal some more before doing anything else..so it's been a quiet few weeks. Some good days, some great days and then some not so great days. But overall - he's doing good.

Ever since Raymond (his brother in law) fixed up a table for him, he has been spending a lot of time working on all his drums. He's getting them ready and having a ball doing it.

So for now - as they say - no news is good news.

Dr. Paul Monsour & Harry Ravain

Mardi Gras Day!

Well we were fortunate to spend the day with someone who has become so very important to both of us. Harry's Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Paul Monsour and his wonderful wife April. We got downtown early - so we walked down St. Charles to Jackson and watch Zulu. Harry got me a 100th anniversary Zulu Coconut, thank you to the NOPD officer from originally from Detroit for making our morning. We had a really good time - both of us exercise and I turned a year older, making me officially in my 50's

Dr. Monsour & Benefit Picture Link

We saw Dr. Monsour today - and I don't know how he does it but he lifts our spirit and gives us new hope every time we see him. I thank God everyday that he brought him into our lives. We will see him again in April - until then Harry keeps up the healing.

For those who were unable to attend the Rock N Bowl benefit.. I have uploaded the pictures to Flicker - Here is the link if you'd like to go look..... thank you to everyone who has sent their photos to us. It really means a lot - thanks

Doctor Reports

Harry saw his pulmonoligist and a gastroenterologist yesterday. We are in a holding pattern for now. Dr. Schuette says there is no rush to get back into chemotherapy that healing is still the best course for now. We will see Dr. Black his medical oncologist in late April and probably discuss additional chemotherapy then. We still have one more appointment this week and I will post again after that.

Again I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support and for coming out to the Rock N Bowl - you really made Harry feel special and have by your kindness let me concentrate on getting him well - thank you - you are all gifts from God and I could never repay you.

I will be posting all the fabulous pictures that were taken that night soon and when I do I will post the link here..

Thanks again - Mona & Harry

A Full Week Ahead

Happy Belated Valentine's Day to all..

We go to see a new gastroenterologist tomorrow. Harry was determined to have reflux and lower esophagus spasms so we are hoping Dr. Gold can help with that. Then on Wednesday - Harry's stepfather is King of Carnival at his nursing home so we are taking his Mom to that. Then Thursday he sees Dr. Monsour and Dr. Schuette. I supposed this is when they will send us back to Dr. Black and we will proceed with more chemotherapy. I also fly to Dallas that night for a show and get back Sunday morning.

We also were able to visit Bill Murray on his trip to New Orleans. Both Bill and Ruby looked great. Ruby my hat is off to you and your courage.

Monday, February 9, 2009

thank you

To each and everyone of you - a huge thank you. I understand it was a rousing success last night and I know how happy you all made Harry. We are blessed with great families, friends and supporters...

I hope each of you had a great time. You each gave Harry another reason to fight harder to beat this thing.

Love, Mona

Doctor Visit

Doctor Jeanfreau was able to get the results from Harry's test on Thursday. He has reflux and some spasms in his lower esophagus. So we continue the Nexium. We also talked to him about the dizziness and the headaches. He took Harry off his blood pressure medicine and gave him Fioricet for his headaches and we should know in a couple of days whether or not that was the problem.

He is really looking forward to the benefit - hope ya'll have a great time..

We are headed to the hospital this morning for an xray with contrast to see why he is still coughing so much - they figured the medicine would have conquered this by now. Tomorrow he has an appointment with his Medical Internist. I will post as soon as we know anything new.

We met with the surgeon today and he is not comfortable going ahead with surgery at this time. So we will be seeing his pulmonologist and medical oncologist again soon and we will see what direction they want to go.

As the surgeon said his progress is remarkable but there is still some work to be done. I will update you as soon as we know what happens next.

Your prayers have been miraculous so far - we will just need to impose for a few more as we continue to fight this thing.

Thank you for your support - we love all of you..

Janice's Birthday

Today was Cousin Janice's birthday. We celebrated at Picadilly with Cousin Bob, Cousin's Jan & Mike Ravain, Robyn & John Russell, and little Ava, Joycelyn (Harry's Mom) what a lovely time we had. Janice said we should do this once a month and I think we all agree that would be a great idea.

Harry has been out and about quite a bit the last few days. The steroids are helping his cough but does not seem as much as last time. And he gets dizzy very easy. I may call Dr. Monsour or Dr. Schuette and let them know - just in case.

More later,

Mona
